Tour de France spectator killed
A spectator has been killed and two others injured as they watched the Tour de France after they were hit by a police motorcycle, organisers said.
The accident happened in the village of Wittelsheim, about 40km (25 miles) from the start of the race's 14th stage in Colmar, north-eastern France.
Organisers said the three people were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
French police said the circumstances of the accident were unclear.
"A woman crossed the road and was hit by a Republican Guardsman on a motorcycle," Alain Fontaine, a spokesman for the gendarmerie, told Reuters news agency.
"Then the motorcycle slid and hit one or two more people," he added.
